A body by the river
They found a body by the river
still dressed in a floral dress
They found a body by the river
pale skin, wet hair, eyes of rest
They found a body by the river
Teeth stained from tar, coffee and Sauvignon
Teeth stained from the Moka pot her dad gave her when she turned 25
Teeth stained from a habit formed in the cold wind outside of parties she wanted to leave, and venues giving relief
Teeth stained from fermented grapes sipped with her heritage in plate, sipped with he grandfather in 1968 on a construction site being allowed wine
They found a body by the river
A body that stashes unfathomable amounts of olive oil out of spite
Just because her family is finally able to
They found a body by the river
30 years young
still dressed in a floral dress
pale skin, wet hair, eyes of rest
Limbs laying criss cross in the mud.
Father proud. Mother gone.
They found a body by the river
with a son and a dog
moving from apartment to apartment
never settling down
They found a body by the river
That never finished her studies
They found a body by the river
That laughs with her younger brother
We’ll never forget the blood on your lips and the signs of struggle on your hands.
We want to thrive.
The river will never be fed bodies again.

trädet i skogen
trädet i skogen
bär frukt i varje färg
grenar tunga av
tuggummikulor
varje träd en stor
tuggummiautomat
du får famna, du får känna
stammen pressas i din hud
du får skaka, du får rycka
tills en kula
faller på din rygg
följer kroppen neråt
slicka kulans yta bort
med saliv och smaka
färgen, formen
tungan ändrar
och rullar kulan
foglig, mjuk och blöt
⁓
hosta upp ett äpple
håll det i din hand
tänder hugger äpplet
tungan smeker äpplets
kött som mjuknas när du suger in
den söta vätskan
i kärnhuset två armar
drar dig in och visar
skogen, trädet, nära
dig känns ett eko
någon
smaskar på tuggummi
och ett träd som bultar
